Ronseal Chalky Furniture Paint is the perfect paint for your next upcycling project. Give your furniture, cupboards or doors a chalk effect with high protection. It protects against knocks and scuffs and doesn’t require a primer or to be finished with wax or lacquer. It’s everything you need in one tin.

Preparation
Always ensure you product is cleaned and prepared before application.
- Sand the item with a 120 grit sandpaper working in the direction of the grain.
- If your paint is in poor condition and flaking we would recommend to sand back to the bare wood, this can be done with an electric sander.
- Wipe down with white spirit and a cloth and ensure all the dust is removed.
- We recommend you remove any handles and masking take any parts you do not wish to paint e.g hinges.
Application
Stir the paint thoroughly and test a small area to ensure you are happy with the finish and colour.
- Only apply when temperatures are above 10°C.
- Thoroughly stir the paint, ensure all pigments are mixed in and there’s no lumpy bits.
- Apply one coat using a synthetic brush, painting in the direction of the woodgrain.
- Allow to dry for 4 hours.
- Apply second coat.
- It should be touch dry in a s little as 30 minutes.
Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
Aftercare & Storage
Cleaning
Once your paint is dry, you can clean your wood just like you normally would. Don’t let the dirt and dust build up too much though or you won’t be able to show off your DIY skills!
Repair
Repairing any damage or cracks is easy. You just need to sand down the damaged area and apply another couple of coats to fix it.
